New Shop Now Open In Bargates

Post by laura » Tue Jul 20, 2010 8:36 am

Good Morning everyone .

A new haberdashery shop has just opened in Bargates called Feather in the Breeze. The shop is between Sweeny Todds hairdressers, and otilia's clothes shop.
As well as haberdashery, there are a selection of lovely handmade items including unique Childrens clothing - some made from 1950's sewing patterns, TuTu's, jewellery, unusual leather belts, bags, tiara's, a range of lovely cards of the local area by Bransgore photographer Karen Pigot, decorated corsets, feather boa's and gorgeous mini Tophats for dancers and more.

Childrens and adults dance costumes can be made to order - made by a local Lady , Lynne Parker, who has over 20 years experience in making beautiful costumes for competitions etc.
In a couple of weeks there will be sewing patterns available - A range to buy there and then , and also others that can be ordered in and either sent directly to you , or available for collection from the shop.

Also a range of new and secondhand sewing and craft books, Feathers, beads and findings for jewellery making, childrens crafts - Knitting dolls, pegs for doll making, felt, beads etc .

Worth a visit , and soon there will be jewellery making and craft classes available at the shop. Hope to see you there soon

This is a brilliant shop. It's not just a bog standard haberdashery - it sells everything you might need for brightening up clothes plus the buttons she sells are not just ordinary buttons but some you would never have even thought about plus stuff for fancy dress and nice underwear for ladies such as basques.........

It's worth a visit just to see what she has. And she makes her own one-off jewellery for much less than some jewellers in the town centre.
